India - Mount Gilead

Our pastor, Phillip Morgan, myself, and two other ladies from Mt. Gilead Baptist Church went to
India on a mission trip this past summer. Before going none of us knew exactly what to expect
or what we would be doing there. We only knew God was calling each of us to go and we obeyed.
We visited an orphanage which our church sponsors. Upon arriving, I realized I was not there to
teach these 31 orphans about God. They already knew about God!  It was evident by their
actions and by the look in their eyes. These orphans, their pastor, his wife, and the workers at the
orphanage truly have the love of Jesus. I’ve never seen or felt Jesus’ love that strongly.
I realize I experienced Jesus’ love like I never have before. Also, I saw firsthand what true humility
is. These children have nothing, nor do they want anything because they have everything. They
have Jesus Christ in their lives.
Our team also discussed future plans of building a new orphanage and discussed this with their pastor.
Upon arriving home we shared these plans with our church family. Our church is praying for God’s
leadership as to how we are to help.
In conclusion, God truly showed me His love and sincere humility. Our team built relationships with
the children and the workers in Jesus’ name.
Our desire is that God will raise up missionaries from the orphans one day to spread the gospel
throughout that region which is only 2% Christian.
